How counselling can help
Counselling gives you space to explore what is going on in a confidential and safe environment and can help you find your own inner resources to deal with issues. Counselling can allow space to understand why you feel and behave the way you do, and what impact this may have on you and those around you. It can relieve emotional pain and resolve past traumas. Counselling can help you change unhelpful behaviours. It can help you to lift depression, relax, let go, grieve, communicate better in relationships, and feel better about yourself.
Professional Memberships and Insurance
Each counsellor is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The majority of us are Accredited or Senior Accredited members.
Individual counsellors also belong to other professional bodies depending on their way of working, e.g. the EMDR Association, the British Psychological Society.
All counsellors hold their own Indemnity Insurance and all undergo annual DBS checks.
Ethics
All team members work to and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and have regular supervision.
Complaints
If you are happy with our service, then please tell others. However, if you are not happy please tell us so we can try to resolve the problem. If we cannot resolve a problem the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy has a complaints procedure.
